Adam Degenstein
Certified Journeyman Farrier
Adam has been a professional farrier for over 24 years. A graduate of the Olds College Farrier Program, he completed five years of apprenticeship before establishing his own business, Adam Degenstein Farrier Services.
Adam is currently accepting new clients in the South Cariboo and surrounding areas. Haul-ins are welcome on a pre-arranged date and time. Clinic opportunities & blacksmith training are also available.
Teachings
Farrier Clinics
At his home base, Pilot Farm & Forge, Adam will be hosting a select number of farrier clinics for graduates of farrier training programs, first-time competitors, and practicing farriers interested in continuing education and skill development. He will offer topics such as maintaining farrier tools, forging shoes for everyday practice, and draft horse trimming and shoeing.
Blacksmith Training
Adam offers beginner-friendly blacksmithing clinics for those with a passion for bending steel. Participants will learn to work with a coke forge, handle essential tools such as hammers, tongs, and punches, and how to work all angles of the anvil.

Accomplishments
Named Canadian Farrier Champion, serving as a six-time Canadian Farrier Team member, and competing successfully across Canada, the United States, England, and Scotland. He is an active member of the Western Canadian Farriers Association and approved clinician. With a passion for his craft, strong reputation, and years of experience behind him, Adam continues to expand his profession through exciting new opportunities.
